Ah trackies. My favourites too.
Like you, zip pockets are a must. As you say, you can zip a car key or some coins in the pockets, safe in the knowledge that they won't fall out.
I've not come across any with mesh panels, but agree with you, they don't seem a good idea.
I must admit I like a good make, such as Adidas or Nike. I also have some quite thick North Face ones, although they take a while to dry. The bonus is that they hold water well, and are quite heavy when wet.
I used to like the shell suit type ones. When you stood up the water that was trapped between the shell and the lining made them balloon out around the ankles. Fashion then changed to the jogger type fleecy lined ones, of which my North Face ones are an example. Now it seems we are back to polyester, much of it recycled. I have a pair of Adidas in dark grey with green striped, which get me going even when wearing them dry. They are so smooth and silky, whilst also being quite thin. Great when worn commando.
I sometimes sleep in mine, and love letting my bodily juices flow inside. Absolute heaven.
Thanks for starting an interesting post. Let's hope more 'enthusiasts' find it on here and contribute.
Cheers.
