clothes don't get ruined because they get muddy, they just get dirty. White shirts may only be a dull white afterwards, but jeans are fine. If you are worried, buy a cheap pair at Old Navy or a thrift shop to play in the mud. The important thing is not to worry about it much, its just mud, you can always wash it off both you and your clothing. Tell your parents you had an impromptu game of football in the mud, or go for a hike where you can get muddy and wash off, coming home damp but not super muddy. Its really not that big of a deal to get muddy, it happens all the time. Just enjoy it! Its incredibly fun to be covered in mud and not care about your clothes, that's the whole point, so try it. What's the worst that can happen?
