I have pretty much the same issue as you do as far as shoes and socks go. If I have an older, lighter-weight pair of shoes, I'll sometimes wear them for a soaking. But if I'm actually swimming, I'll usually not bother with shoes. You might try just wearing socks, but the issue I have there is they like to slide off my feet while I'm swimming - and if I don't loose them in the water, they end up getting super dirty if I walk around with them on land. I'd say I go barefoot probably 75% of the time myself.

As far as underwear go, I guess you could try briefs instead of boxers and see how that feels for you. Honestly I normally just change into dry clothes pretty quick after I come out of the water. I know some people like staying in their wet clothes and walking around in them, but I never got into that.
