I think it's pretty common although I don't know exactly why. I do know the sound of running water, such as turning on a faucet or the sound of a trickling stream often stimulates people to urinate.

I suspect it has something to do with body temperature. Being wet cools the body so it does not need to retain water used to cool the body in the form of sweat/perspiration. Perhaps in an attempt to rewarm the body the brain tells us to get rid of excess fluids that would take longer to warm up and would slow down the process of reheating the body. Perhaps the coolness of the water makes the bladder "shrink" or spasm.

This is all speculation and theory on my part but there does have to be a logical scientific reason why this happens. I know it happens to me and I am sure it happens to many others. You are not alone.
