17 is fun before life responsibilities get to serious - careers, families, etc. Do enjoy it!
I have to agree that life gets better later on too once you go thru some things and realize you need to just enjoy it so if you learn to do that 'all along the way' you'll be happier and better adjusted than most.
I can't imagine learning first on manual stick. I learned on Automatic but MY first car was a manual and it is rough at first but soon you'll be shifting smoothly without problems. The Bentley sounds nice - as do taking it to car shows.
So from me - have a WW b-day celebration with all your friends!
