PLEASE tell me if this is a dumb idea

Hi so this might be a long explanation but I want your advice.
First this is that I was in a dunk tank for the first time just a couple weeks ago. I had a blast but I wore shortsand a short sleeve shirt. I desperately want to do a dunk tank again but this time I want to wear different clothes, like long pants or a fancy shirt or something. Luckily my town has a back to school carnival coming up. They have a dunk tank and I heard they are looking for volunteers to take a turn in it. I actually know the people in charge of it so I talked to them and said I;d do a 20 minute shift in the tank. They thanked me but said I'm too young and I'm not allowed!! I even got my parents to say that they give their permission, but it still didn't work.
So then I had this idea... part of the carnival is a water fight parade. Basically its a parade, but for a section of it, people in the parade can throw water at the people watching. And vice versa. Water baloons and squirt guns are what everyone uses. And its only allowed for a certain section of the parade so for people who don't want to get wet they don't have to. Now a few years ago the mayor would sit on a seat like a big throne on the back of a truck. He'd dress up in a suit and just let people completely soak him. It was just for laughs but it was a popular sight. Now we have a new mayor who doesn't continue that tradition.
So I had a crazy idea - what if I did that? I could go to the thrift store and get a really cheap suit, maybe even one that's really ugly or a funny color or something. My friend's dad has a truck and a open trailer and I bet he'd agree to help. We could rig up a "throne" on the trailer and well you get the idea, I'd sit there and let peopledouse me with water during the parade.
OK but here's what I'm not sure about. I'm no one special, I'm just a random kid. Wouldnt people wonder why I'm putting my self through that? Would they call me out on it or anything? Is it just too weird?
